The battle to disinfranchise more than 200,000 fans of baseball was despicable from the beginning.

Why would MLB want to do that? It's non-sensical - akin to someone just willfully shooting themselves in the foot.

Thankfully, Senator Kerry rose to the forefront and (according to news reports) coerced a settlement that benefited (me) - one of those nameless fans.

Hopefully, MLB will find a way to live comfortably with the purported $100 million a year generated for the duration of this contract.

Next question........what is the next threat to me and other fans - posed by this so-called MLB Channel? Senator Kerry.........stand by (Please!).

As a disabled person living on a fixed income in an apartment building, I CAN NOT install Direct TV nor can I afford to install it. For the past four years I've been able to watch out of market games via cable TV, this has allowed me my only opportunity to see baseball. I'm physically unable to travel the 150 miles to the closest major league team. Basball says I can watch games on my computer but the quality isn't worth the pain of sitting at a computer. Baseball aslo says I can watch the game of the week on Fox or ESPN but neither network carries the games I want to see. Oh well, I guess all love affairs must end, I just didn't think my nearly 50 years with baseball would end so soon.

Hiya Kellia

Why am I down on the Giants?

1) "trading" Schmidt for Zito is a net zero

2) they've done nothing to get any offense or get any younger

3) their defense outside of Vizquel and Roberts is very shaky

4) Armando Benitez is still their closer

5) Barryiumenema is still a distraction

This is why Mauer is going fairly low in a lot of "keeper" fantasy leagues. As valuable as he would be as a catcher (when healthy), his value in a keeper league drops sharply if he moves to DH or 1B.
